The creamy melted cheese combined with the spicy rice cake. One is mild and one is spicy. To cook these yummy rice cake, all you need is to boil the rice cake in a small amount of water until it's soft and tender. In a pan, heat the grapeseed oil on medium heat.

Instructions to make Cheese tteokbokki:
  1. Boil rice cakes in 400 ml water for 2 mins
  2. Add fishcakes and boil another 2 mins
  3. Add gochujang and gochugaru and mix

Wash and cut spring onions and carrots into long strips and add to the oil into the pan. Once they start to soften, add the tteok until it starts to further soften. In the meantime combine garlic, vegetable stock, kochujang, soy sauce and honey in a small bowl. I tried to develop a different version by using vegetable oil instead of butter and I tried using cheddar cheese instead of mozzarella cheese. Cheddar cheese didn't work at all, it too quickly melted into a flat mass and burned.
